2024 NFL Draft Big Board- Final

The Senior Bowl and Shrine Games were entertaining as usual despite some key prospects sitting out. Call it business decisions. No problem, but a missed opportunity nonetheless considering they wouldn’t have been at the All Star Games at all if their agents didn’t know they needed a bump in their stock. After receiving votes for Team Captain, Michael Penix Jr big-timed the assembled NFL scouting and front office establishment as a healthy scratch from the Reese’s Senior Bowl game. That’s a red flag. It says, A) I’m resting on my tape, which has holes as a distributor to all levels, and B) I’m more concerned about my medicals than you are! MPJ is going to get absolutely bukkaked by NFL medicals personnel at The Combine, then have to go out and do drills. He is setting up for a real shitty weak in March. RIP Go Dawgs.

Here is the current Big Board for the NFL’s Top 60 best rookie prospects. This’ independent of what I feel the market value is on Draft Day. Just more of an early snapshot of talent. For instance, you could have a kicker in the Top 10 if indeed that athletic profile and skill set were greater than a cross-section of other players. He’s not going to sniff the first round of the draft, but it makes that player no less talented.

Some trends: There’s an encouraging crop of QBs, not generational, but better than 2023. Drake Maye is my most overrated player of the year. Yes, I’m an infamous helmet scout, but you know what? There’s something to it and the league is getting nervous about his one year flash, too. Also, suck it! While last years WRs were smurfs, the 2024 Class is a combination of big, fast and big+fast. You’re talking Zay Flowers vs DK Metcalf, night and day shit. MHJ and Rome Odunze are generational talents. Brock Bowers will be simply an H-Back with high impact in a creative offense. Not seeing a future HoF like Kelce or Gronk there. Sorry GA Dawg Fans. The EDGE group is back in a big way and nice options across the OL as well with a great deal of position flexibility. IDL, LB and S continue to be positions you can count on Day 2 with very little urgency early on. You always need luck on your side, but Seahawks in prime position to address their offseason goals in the Front 7 once again.

NFL COMBINE UPDATE:

Great Combine. Best 7 day event since Hanukkah! Now fr fr the OL crop is worth getting excited about. We’re going to see a great deal of clarity on big boards in the coming weeks as the consensus begins to filter throughout the league. They’ve joined WR as the real story of the 2024 NFL Draft.
